Vegetarian Food Studio

Vegetarian Food StudioIt’s about time I wrote a review about these guys! For those of you who don’t know, Vegetarian Food Studio is a fully vegetarian indian restaurant in Cardiff.  It’s the restaurant I visit most frequesntly and to be honest, I’ve never been let down by them! The service is very friendly, the taste is fantastic and  however busy they are it never seems to effect the quality that I have recieved.

When you walk in for the first time, it really doen’t feel like a restaurant, it’s set out more like a take away with a few seat bunged in there. But you go and sit on one of those tables and you’ll see what I mean. I was made to feel part of the family instantly. When I asked about how you would eat a Thali properly in India he showed me how to eat the meal just with my hands, it was a peculier experience but one I will definately be trying again!

So regardless of if your vegetarian or not, get yourself down there and see for yourselves!

I’d definitely recommend trying:

Starter:

Hara Bhara Kebab – Vegetable kebab roll made of potatoes, peas, herbs & spices served with chutney. (#20)

Mains:

Ringan No-Oro – Barbeque roasted aubergine stir fried with onions, corriander, tomatoes and chilli. (#86)

Rice:

Onion Jeera Rice – Steamed basmati rice blended with onions and jeera (cumin.) (#104)

Bread:

Rotli – Gujarati bread made from wheat flour. (#110)

Dessert

Hot Carrot Halwa & Ice Cream (#122)**

**I’ve never been too keen on the dessert in Indian restaurants but you must try this one, it will blow your socks off!

So to sum it all up, the price is excellent, service impecable and the food that I have eaten there has never let me down, very flavoursome and very well spiced, these guys really know what they are doing. Well done, and keep up the good work.
